Top 5 places to visit in Odessa Ukraine 🇺🇦 this summer!
There’s a lot to do in Odessa Ukraine but today I’m going to share my top five places on your next visit to Ukraine
I was in Odessa a few days ago and my number one tip to take with you when traveling anywhere is to get your itinerary because it saves you time and expenses.
Your itinerary should include the places you plan on visiting, how you intend on transporting yourself, feeding and the allocated amount for each of them.
I find out that if you plan on the time it saves time and unnecessary expense.
Your itinerary doesn’t have to be accurate and you can always tweak it from time to time when you want. That’s by the way, below I share the top 5 places to visit on your next trip to Odessa!
Visit the City Garden
The city garden is located in the heart (centre) of Odessa. The truth is if you do not go to the center city of a city or country when you travel, did you really travel haha.
You know why, the reason is that the center city is viewed as one of the most visited touristic places and it is located at the very centre of Odessa.
It’s just like visiting Paris and not seeing the Eiffel tower!
Everybody knows that one of the ways to show that you actually went there is to go to a place like this, which is iconic and take pictures. Voila!
Visit Deribasiv’ska Street
Right opposite the city garden is Deribasiv’ska Street. It’s a long walkway filled with lots of different activities.
This place is filled with music, artists drawing on the sidewalk, people horse riding, dance competitions etc so you can never get bored.
The only downside to this place is because it’s such a popular attraction, it is often times crowded with lots of people from different part of the globe.
Odessa sea port
The Odessa seaport is the largest Ukrainian sea port. It’s a very nice, busy place with beautiful scenery.
The Potemkin Steps
The Potekim steps are considered a formal entrance from the Odessa seaport into the city.
According to history, it was a gift from the prince to his wife in the 1820s .. ‘What a gift I exclaimed, such extravagance!’ There are 192 steps in total.
From the top of the steps, you can have a closer view of the seaport!
Monuments created to the founders of Odessa
Take pictures at the monuments created to the founders of Ukraine.
This place is one of the most prominent sights in the city and it’s a walkable distance to the Potekim steps and the Odessa seaport so you can visit all the sites at once without stress.
Visit the Arcadia beach
There are tons of other beaches in Odessa but Arcadia is by a significant margin more popular and the reason is not far fetched. The place is built like you are in another entity or kingdom (there’s a major entrance to enter in and above it, is written ARCADIA ) and you would think it just a beach and nothing more right ?
Not at all! Before getting to the beach itself, there are tons of other things like shopping malls, restaurants, the monster house etc preceding the beach.
It was such a beautiful Site to behold !
Finally, my take away from the Odessa trip!
The nightlife is super alive here unlike what I am used to in Ternopil, Ukraine.
And as expected since it is a major tourist place it was crowded!
Anticipate the second part of the top places to visit in Odessa, Ukraine next week!
